Guidance Framework Implementation: Training Workshop to Improve Capacity on Developing Emission Inventory

About this Course

Background

The first of a series of trainings on EI aims to equip the National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring (NAMEM) and local EI compilers about the basic concepts and approaches for EI, including the improvement of data collection systems and assessment of suitable emission factors (EFs) for EI development. International experiences and good practices for EFs development and application for technologies (e.g. vehicle, power plants, household) similar to those in Mongolia will also be shared.

Training Objectives:

The first training workshop on EI aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET)/NAMEM staff and other relevant agencies and stakeholders, for the development of a comprehensive national-level EI. Specifically, the training workshop aims to:
• Provide participants with knowledge on common EI approaches for different types of emission sources;
• Provide information on relevant EFs databases relevant for Mongolia;
• Provide best practice and case studies on EI from other countries;
• Review and plan for next steps for EI implementation in Mongolia using the Guidance Framework roadmap

Target Participants
This training workshop is designed for NAMEM/MET staff, local EI compilers from industries, and other relevant sectors.
